Companies Team to Donate $5,000 to CHOC Children's Hospital
SAN FRANCISCO, CA - Affordable Jerseys, Inc., a leading online sports merchandise retailer, announced today it will be donating $5,000 to CHOC Children's Hospital in memory of Los Angeles Angels pitcher Tyler Skaggs.
Skaggs, a right handed pitcher who passed away unexpectedly on July 1, 2019, was a generous friend of the Children's Hospital of Orange County.
Shortly after his death, Affordable Jerseys customer support was flooded with requests for Skaggs merchandise.
"That's when we reached out to our friends at CoverageGear.com to see what they could do. Their team promptly designed and produced several Skaggs hats, and we offered to sell and donate 100% of proceeds," shared owner Andrew J. Chapin, "Our social media community was quick to share the hats with their networks and we received more than 80 orders."
The company matched the sales for a total donation of $5,000 which it will present to Children's Hospital of Orange County later this month.
Skaggs hats remain on sale through 7/31 on the AffordableJerseys.com website. The company will update its fundraising total prior to the donation.
